He Knows You By Name

To the outsider, a flock of sheep looks like one large mass of wool. All sheep look alike.

Not so to the shepherd. The shepherd knows his sheep. He calls them by name. To God, our shepherd, every face is different. Every face is a story. Every face has a name. And He knows it well.

The shepherd knows me. He knows me by name. And He will never forget it. Isaiah 49:16 says “I have written your name on my hand.”

Thank you for reminding me that you know me by name.

We all know the permanence of getting a tattoo. When that tattoo shows someone’s name, the significance of that name is quite obvious.

Think about it. Your name… on God’s hand. You and I, are that important to Him.

Application: What understanding do you get from learning that God wrote your name on His hand?
