There are so many books that claim to be the authority in finances, so many authors who hold the title of “expert” in addressing this topic…really a lot of human wisdom one can glean from. However, if I compare a typical long life of 60-100 years to the eternity GOD has been around, I am much more inclined to consider what GOD says about such important topic in, what he calls, His word – The Bible.
Here are a few insights on money, prosperity and material blessing:
- Be diligent and plan for your future. “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” – Proverbs 21:5, NKJ
- Deal honestly. “Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.” – Prov. 21:6, NKJ
- Live with discipline. He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich. – Prov. 21:17
- Be a good stewart of what you earn. Do not squander your earnings. “There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it.” – Prov. 21:20
- Be diligent and give generously. “The desire of the lazy mankills him, For his hands refuse to labor. He covets greedily all day long, But the righteous gives and does not spare.” – Prov. 21:25,26
- Live humbly and fear God. “By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life.” – Prov. 22:4
- Live within your means. ” The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” – Prov. 22:7
